AI-ready Data

Overview

AI-ready data means data that is fit-for-purpose for specific AI use cases: it is curated, governed, and measurable.

A key point in Gartner’s framing is that readiness is contextual: you can’t declare a dataset “AI-ready” in the abstract.

Why it is hyped

As organizations move from prototypes to scale, data work becomes the bottleneck:

  • data quality and drift
  • provenance and access control
  • bias and privacy constraints
  • evaluation datasets for ongoing verification
